A legend reinterpreted as NFT.
Five of the best NFT artists in the world and in the middle: a living legend. That is the quintessence of the NF-G Challenge by the young artist collective "ART2PEOPLE". Their timeless muse? The G-Class.
This project is about the digital art world intersecting with the hand-made craft and past of the motoring world; merging these two spheres together to bring an „OG" into the world of NFT and establishing it as an NFG ( a Non-fungible G-Class). The G-Class has a rich history spanning 40 years; this year for its anniversary it is being relaunched and reinterpreted through a digital lens. The inclusivity and reputation built around the G-Class has earned it an icon status beyond its functionality as a durable off road vehicle and elegant appearance. The vehicle symbolizes a perfect fusion of purpose and form, it is a machine capable of cruising any landscape, from Monte Carlo to Mountains.
The G-Class is a link to previous generations and a reassuring reminder that good design can go on forever. Through this project we are asking artists to consider these relationships and reflect on the role of the G-Class as an off-roader in new digital terrains. Art always has to find new means and outlets of expression whilst maintaining ways to communicate about its own past. This is one of the conundrums of all change in art. Walter Benjamin summed this up when he said, ‚’there is a secret agreement between past generations and the present one”.
The G-Class is an „OG" in its own world and now its entry into the NFT space solidifies this status as an „OG" in new technologies and mediums. There is a parallel between the rariety and uniqueness of the G-Class and NFTs; in their respective motoring and art worlds. The 5 artists chosen have created works that reflect on the fundamentals of what the car stands for; portraying the familiarity that the G-Class fan base relates to yet elevating it to a masterpiece and the primary focus of the artworks. An important goal of the project is also to build a bridge between the two worlds of G-Class enthusiasts and the NFT community; uniting prestige, scarcity, freedom and luxury.

Diversity without limits.
The artists of the NF-G Challenge are characterised by their enormous artistic diversity and many years of experience in the digital world. There is Antoni Tudisco from Hamburg, who has stirred the virtual art world with imaginative 3D animations and has already collaborated with some well-known names in the music and fashion industries.
For their latest project, five of the most up-and-coming digital artists interpret the Mercedes-Benz design icon in a completely new and exciting way.

THE ARTISTS
This distinctive project tasked 5 international reputable artists from the NFT space to interpret the G-Class in their own style. The artists involved all have very different backgrounds, styles, digital tools and mediums they use, resulting in a series of intriguingly varied results. Coming from fields crossing music, fashion, graphic design, architecture, creative marketing, luxury design and real estate, the process and approach of the artists brings an interdisciplinary element to the series.

THE PROJECT
The approach of the project reflects patterns of the NFT domain; from the innovatory drop to the different options for being involved and buying artpieces. Cryptoart and NFTs are just the spearhead of pioneering technology, much more is in the pipeline. Web 3.0, Metaverses, gamification, physical tokenization and virtual realities are the next steps that will change what it means to be human. Artists operating in the growing NFT art world, creating new ways of interacting and of representing ideas are brought here to reflect on the G-Class and its loyal fan base.
THE DROP| NIFTY GATEWAY
The drop on Nifty Gateway will be an unusual drop concept which also features some special rewards for NFG holders in the future. Artpieces will begin with different price categories of $222 up to $1,554. This allows a variety of participants at different price points the possibility to buy such a high quality and epic genesis NFG at reasonable prices. There will be open and limited editions and also drawings available. The drop date will be 23rd January 2022 at 6 PM EST on www.niftygateway.com and will last for around 60 mins.
The drop will include special milestone features; there will be a spectacular raffle for all NFT holders when the collective primary sales reach $1million, this will be a physical G-Class. The second milestone will include the raffle of another G-Class between the artists if the project reaches $2 million in primary sales. Nifty Gateway is a very accessible and easy platform to navigate and purchase NFTs, with the ability to buy via credit card without holding crypto currency.

The NFG project was carried out by UNIQUECOL (Can Florian Ahegger, founder of ART2PEOPLE) and MARCO MORI (3-D artists and member of ART2POEPLE) by following the vision to build a bridge between the G-Class as a design piece and „OG“ of the luxury automotive industry and the NFT space. Beside artist projects ART2PEOPLE is also involved in different NFT projects for several brands in the luxury industry with the aim to develop sustainable, authentic and individual business models in the NFT space.
